When I paint it comes out of tension between what’s inside and what’s outside. The surface tension appears as a place that materializes like a state of being where there is no point in trying to get back to the tension’s unbroken condition. Life pushes you in one way and then you’re pulled away into another direction, like a wild disagreement under a motionless water where the light on the surface reflects one’s rebellious soul. surface tension, the painting, is what I visualize on the surface, the end punctuation, found in a logic both distant and deep.
