Negative spaces trees
About
In-between spaces belong to no one, yet at the same time to everyone. Like a playground, I love how you can navigate around , outside and inside these spaces; creating a secret imaginary world in-between.
The drawings below are drawings that are created daily of the negative spaces of my favorite tree. It is part of a collaboration project with artist; Julia Hyde. We have both been drawing over several months the negative spaces of each our favorite tree. Hers located in Belgium, where she is currently living and mine in Oslo, Norway. We have not seen one another's tree. However, we have daily shared with each other the drawings we've created, and posted them on our story lines on instagram as a daily reminder of the negative spaces surrounding us, and as reciprocal way of giving to each other by viewing one another's tree indirectly through these intimate, private spaces.
